Choosing an email provider shouldn’t be something you take lightly.
You must bear in mind that to a large extent your email marketing strategy will be affected by the power that the tool you choose may have .
I was personally concerned about this issue at the time and I was doubting between the two platforms that I want to compare you today.

This is undoubtedly an important fact.
Losing 1 email out of 4 that we send would imply that if you have a list of 400 subscribers, our emails would only reach 300. Taking into account what it costs to capture a subscriber, this data should be the most important to consider when of choosing a provider.
At this point Aweber has a fairly high reputation, and a few years ago Mailchimp was on Aweber’s tail.

If you think your email provider isn’t going to be either of these two, make sure it has Autoresponders.
Statistics is another important point to keep in mind.
You must know how successful your email campaigns are and the only way to know the success of a campaign is by measuring the result of this campaign.

In the case of Mailchimp they did a complete redesign of the application a short time ago where they gave the web a modern flat style and where doing anything takes just a few minutes.
For me it is a clear Mailchimp winner in terms of ease of use, but as I said, it is a totally subjective opinion of mine.
Import of Contacts.
This is one of the points where Aweber falters the most since it does not allow you to import contacts from other sources automatically and requires that the subscribers you import accept to be on the mailing list again.
To do this they send an email to each subscriber to accept it again.
You can imagine what will happen, right?
Yes, you will lose a large part of your subscribers.
In the case of Mailchimp they assume that if you have a list of contacts they have already given you permission to contact them so you only have to add them to your list and nothing else.
Clear winner also Mailchimp.
I wanted to leave the price for last because I don’t want it to be what you look at first to decide.
At this point I think Mailchimp wins again and right now I’m going to explain why.
With Mailchimp you have two options, create a free account (up to 2,000 subscribers and 12,000 emails per month) or create a paid account for $ 10 up to 500 subscribers and unlimited emails.
The difference between one and the other is basically that the paid account has more functionalities than the free one, among them the autoresponders that I consider basic. In my case I hired the payment account with Mailchimp from the first day, but in your case you may want to start testing the system and not spend a dime.
In the case of Aweber you have a trial month for $ 1 up to 500 subscribers, from the second month you would already pay $ 19 a month for the service.
That subscriber pricing is much more staggered . For example, at Aweber you would pay $ 29 when you have 501-2500 subscribers. However, in Mailchimp you are paying in increments of $ 5 for every 500 new subscribers.
Thus for 500 you pay $ 10, for 1000 you pay $ 15, for 1500 you pay $ 20, for 2000 you pay $ 25 and for 2500 you pay $ 30.
In the end with 2500 subscribers you are paying the same (I understand that $ 1 less is invaluable).
The problem comes in that you are not going to go from 500 to 2500 subscribers in a day, I imagine it will take time so you are going to be paying more money for a longer time when you can pay something less.
This was the analysis that I did when I decided to contract the paid version of Mailchimp and that I have decided to share with you. I think Mailchimp and WordPress are a perfect match right now that do the job together great.
